Miguelangel Gea Andrés

Miguelangel was born in Linares (Jaén) in 1947 and studied architecture at the University of Navarra (1971) and the School of Architecture of Barcelona (1972) followed by five years of apprenticeship at the prestigious technical office of Moreno Barberá in Madrid, where he participated in numerous important projects like the University of Kuwait and various competitions that were won in this period. He also worked as a post graduate lecturer in the universities of Sevilla and Navarra.

In 1977 he founded his own firm in Seville, carrying out a wide range of projects of all kinds and dimensions; construction projects as well as city planning. He participated in competitions and won several first prizes, standing out among them the first prize for the Service Buildings West Side EXPO´92 in Seville.

His firm has focussed on the regions Andalusia and Extremadura where they carried out big residential compounds and tourist resorts like Islantilla in Lepe and Isla Cristina (Huelva, 304 hectares), Marina El Rompido in Cartaya (Huelva 180 hectares) and Isla Valdecañas in El Gordo y Berrocalejo (Cáceres, 135 hectares). All these resorts feature golf courses, residential buildings, hotels, shopping centers, sports facilities, infrastructure etc. that where designed and planned by the firm, including 12 major four and five star hotels.
